...In the Beginning...

Not really sure why I felt compelled to start a Blog... I am certainly not a writer. In fact I pretty much cheated my way through college when it came to writing... By the way, I am also prone to bouts of lying and stretching the truth.... Perhaps that's why I started this blog! Where else can you systemically lie regarding just about anything without any recourse but on the glorious Internet!

There are certainly some ground rules that will exist regarding this endeavor... I will:

• not guarantee that I/my writing is funny.
• not guarantee a daily entry.
• try not to create an ego-centric portal into my life.
• correctly use weather/whether.
• correctly use ensure/insure.
• correctly use effect/affect.
• never write "irregardless".
• never incorrectly use the term "dominate" when it should be "dominant".
• use ( ) to the point that sentence continuity and syntax will be destroyed!!
• pack as many cliches as possible in my writing!

Beyond this, not much else is defined as of today... By the way, as a Physics Geek, I really wanted to start this blog yesterday, purely for number value of 3-6-09...

This blog is a labor of love to capture to ether space (that's still the term right?) thoughts activities and minutia of a group of guys... I just jumped into the water first... I am Rico Despeedstra! Yep it's a real name look it up (although, one time it was misread as Rice Despeedstra)...

A bunch of us guys through whatever circumstance have met and run together... Not everyday (run together) mind you, but several times a week... By and large we enjoy being around each other, and that spills into our actually spending time together outside of running activities... It is a high-level group of runners, as all except myself ran for a team either in grade/High School or college. None of them ran for the Ohio State University so they really can't be all that good, but good enough. Many of us run for a local club team sponsored by a local running store in West Michigan. I know that you guys (our group) are going to read this and say "duh we know who we are", but I am writing this for the non-knowing audience... One day this site will exceed the 3 hits/day threshold... I'm just saying...

There are many stories and definitions that over time have never been captured. We talked about forming a dictionary of terms and expressions amongst ourselves, but nothing ever materialized. And so here we are. Over time, you will read about Jock Rocket, sticky buns, Bill Rodgers, the caterpillar, "the rocks will break our fall" and much more. Others will contribute to this site, and they will make it a must-read site... Don't forget to thank the volunteers.
